It’s a victimless crime we are talking about here.
Doesn’t this violate liberty and freedom of expression?
What’s next?
Are Grand Theft Auto games going to be illegal for depicting murder and pretty much every other crime there is?
If you look at that kind of stuff, it doesn’t mean you will go out and do it for real.
So why is lolicon and shotacon treated so different?
Is it really worth paying taxes to the courts and prisons for a victimless crime?
What’s your opinion?

Different countries don't care what you think. Remember Iran beheaded a 15 year-old boy in public because he listened to western pop music. Not everyone believes in liberty and freedom of expression.

I share your opinion, that it should be your own descision what to do as long as you don't include other people, but most of society thinks it's unhealthy and influences you in a bad way.
Also, it's difficult to determine where the line has to be drawn. What about drawn loli in a realistic artstyle? What about high quality 3D CG, which is hard to tell if it's real or not at the first glance? Pictures like that are clearly aimed towards people with pedophilic preferences and the general consitence of society sees that as a mental disorder as it isn't natural to be sexually attracted to pre-adolescent girls. So they just ban all sexual depictions of underaged kids to keep it clear.

Germany for example draws a line and tries to actually differentiate: Of course distribution and possession of real images is illegal, but for non-real depictions, such as drawn images, texts and other media, only distribution is illegal, possesion is not. But only if the depiction is not showing an actual or realistic event. So with the way it's worded, you still can get into trouble and in the end it's up to the judge if the loli pictures are considered realistic enough or not.

As you can see, it's not easy to set up universal and clear laws, everyone can agree with, without compromising.

Let's face it. If you view lolicon or shotacon you are clearly a pedophile. Some countries might not tolerate that even though it's not about real children (as you said, a 'victimless crime'). And it might be a very serious issue when some people watching that stuff get bored or whatever and might start to search for actual real child porn online or even consider getting out of their house to experience the real thing firsthand and that is obviously a bad thing.

Not necessarily, though I'm not going to fight you too hard on your point mainly because I don't have the patience to write out a novel as a response. I definitely have loli images in my favorites and thats often my go to preference for fap sessions, but the first time I saw actual CP on 4chan I was actually really distraught for several hours afterwards.

TL;DR some of us know the difference between reality and fantasy.

Don't even get me started on 90% of the cringy ass fantasies and posts in the Comments page.

I repeat my lines 4-8 to anyone who keeps bringing up real images.

I didn't say everyone who views drawn material will switch to the real thing eventually. I'm aware that's not always the case. But it doesn't matter what you guys think. What matters is society's opinion on this topic. People are just scared of pedophiles. And I don't believe you will be able to convince them otherwise in the near future.

Oh I and am sure most people are far more scared of murderers. But still nobody cares about killing depictions. It’s just double standards for depictions of cartoons.

Society is often wrong, which is why we have scientists, and they have said that there is no link between masturbating to loli porn and actual child abuse. It is only illegal in some places because there has been no rational discussion on the topic. The people in power just want to look tough on child porn.
