[LIKELY RESOLVED] ESET security products and JS/Adware.Agent.AC message
Posted on: 08/30/18 01:18PM
Some users have reported that ESET security products have been detecting JS/Adware.Agent.AC on both Gelbooru and TheDoujin.
As far as we're aware, this is a misdetection, but we are in the process of diagnosing exactly what's causing this problem.
For some users, it's only giving a popup stating that the intrusion has been blocked. If this is happening to you, you are safe, and you can continue using the site as usual.
For some other users, it's completely stopping the post list page from loading. If this is happening to you, you may be able to make the page load properly, but with the popup mentioned above, by going into your account settings (gelbooru.com/index.php?page=account&s=options), turning off banner ads, and turning on pop-under ads if they're disabled (you must select at least one type of ad to show).
For users using Chrome, the entire browser may shut down. This is due to an incompatibility between Chrome and ESET's Chrome plugin, and not an issue with the site.
This thread will be updated with more information as soon as it's available.
