Tag type: General
A particular pose (with several variants) in which a character is standing with one leg crossed over and in front of the other at calf-, knee-, or thigh-level. It is named after actress Emma Watson, who has famously and frequently adopted the pose at various awards shows:
The character is usually deliberately presenting or shown in this pose (rather than, say, simply walking). Oftentimes, they will have one hand resting on their hip (hand_on_hip), but this is not a hard-and-fast requirement.
—The Watson Cross has the crossing of the legs such that they form the shape of a V or an X. When they cross at foot- or ankle-level, this usually puts too much space between the upper legs, forming something more like a 4 (example: post #268412). As such, these do not qualify for this tag.
—In virtually all cases, the entirety of both legs must be visible to qualify. In other words, it is not a Watson Cross if one foot seems to just mysteriously disappear behind the other (post #3479064, post #3462870 and post #3528333), nor is it one when the image cuts off at the thighs, knees, calves, etc.
